Sun Caressed Souls

poem by: Andy Wilden
Written on Apr 22, 2015

There was a time when we use to talk,
walk on soft sands, and ponder the breeze.
Now we walk alone our shadows never touching,
distant voices and echoes bouncing off cold walls.
It breaks my heart to feel the cold distant past,
when our hearts would spill over conversation.
There was a time where time itself was stilled,
A perfect moment in one anothers gaze, silent, remembering.
Roads they wind and bend, pulling us to a different end,
Never forgeting a time where in itself stood still.
Dark clouds they loom, but i can still see the sun,
shining through, persistent, feeling his warms rays.
Remember the time when we spoke on warmer days,
and in our deepest hearts, our words held vibrance.
Our darkest days were but a grain of sand in the ocean,
when upon one another our hearts content and never alone.
Take my hand and remember a time, where shadows faded,
and the rays we created would banish every darkness.
I am still here, waiting patiently, remembering brighter days,
Where in body, mind and deepest soul, I call you friend.
