You Came Back

poem by: Kat Sapphire
Written on Apr 17, 2015

Fairy tale stories and
Childhood memories, I wish
You could have been there, but
You left before you got the
Chance to know me.

Keeping boys away
And playing ball in the yard,
I never got any of those,
Not even a card.

You've been out of my life
For ten straight years,
I didn't know if you were
Dead or alive, living far or near.

I finally found you after
Searching and searching
You sent me a card and
A picture of my siblings.

I forgive you for what happened
And now I must say,
I was really happy when
You called on my 16th birthday.
