The Shadows Talking

lyrics by: Allan P Stevens

-
Dark clouds are gathering again
I feel the sadness of them all
Swirling deep inside my brain
I can hear the shadows talking
-
I hear words but, I do not speak
I see their faces upon the wall
I feel my eyes begin to weep
As I hear the shadows talking
-
Am I the only one who hears?
Why do they reach inside my head?
Screaming out with endless fear
The lost souls of those long dead
-
The ones who have died in needless wars
The shadows hold the story of them all
Soldiers and people of circumstance
Those who were only there by chance
They have died and never shall forget their names
As generals and warmongers, still play their games
-
I hear words but, I do not speak
I can see the faces of them all
Then my eyes begin to weep
As I hear the shadows talking
-
All those children, the young lives lost
Their story must be told at whatever cost
Tell the truth of the torture and pain
Of the ones that were driven insane
We need to learn of the evil and the lies
Of those who are wanting, to control our lives
-
Why do I carry this heavy load
Wish I could ignore them all
The answers I shall never know
Still I hear, the shadows talking
-
The answers I shall never know
Still I hear, the shadows talking
-
