Let me be me!

Why oh why just can't you let me be me!
No matter how hard I try I can not measure up
to you. I feel so blue!

When I was younger, I badly wanted friends,
the more I tried, the more I cried.
I just wanted badly to be--somebody--somebody.

I am older know, it happened to me--it
can happen to you.
I am no longer, a sad and lonely lost
little girl. Mis matched in her
make believe world.

In the land of make believe--I did not have to be me.
Dream weavin' most of my life away. Dream weavin' I
just don't want to pay don't want to stay.

Let me be me, dear Lord I pray.
Chase all of the dark clouds
of yester year away.
Turn my shadows into
ever lasting lite!
Love as Always!
